Truck Unloading Procedures
Truck Unloading Procedures
LDM Foods, Yorkton, Saskatchewan
Please follow the procedures listed below to minimize your unload time and maximize your safety. The LDM Seed Receiving is equipped with fully automated equipment. So please pay close attention to the following procedures and instructions.
1. Please enter and exit the site with caution. For safety reasons Do Not Park your truck or trailers over the railway crossing.
2. Line up on the right (north) side of the road along the street lights.
3. Un-tarp your truck early to avoid delays.
4. If you are a first time customer delivering grain to LDM Foods you will need an RFID card. Upon reaching the probe station you must leave your truck and go into the probe station to receive your RFID card which will contain all your customer information. This card must be clipped to the truck visor. Please keep this card in your truck. It is important to remember that only one card will be issued to each truck. This is a one time event.
5. Keep to the right (north) of the probe station and enter the probe area when it is free.
6. Trucks can be probed on either side of the probe station but the left (south) side will only be used when the traffic is congested.
7. Pull up along side of the smart talk system (on driver side window) where you will receive instructions from staff in the scale house. LDM staff will now begin probing your truck. You can communicate with scale house staff though the smart talk speaker.
8. Your customer name and all instructions will appear on the smart view display on your right hand side.
This is how your truck will be probed each and every time you bring a load into LDM Foods
9. The smart view display and scale house staff will inform you when probing is complete and when to proceed to the Inbound Scale to your right (north) side.
10. When the scale is free proceed slowly and come to a stop by the smart talk speaker. Wait for the digital display to say "weight taken" BEFORE moving.
11. Your truck weight will be displayed on the smart view screen.
12. The scale house staff will instruct you through the smart talk system to go to either Pit 1 on the Left (south) side or Pit 2 on the Right (north) side.
13. You must get in line for assigned unload pit:
left (south) for Pit 1 or right (north) for Pit 2
*It is very important that you unload in your assigned Pit as attempting to unload in the wrong Pit will cause the conveying system to shut down. If this happens, you will have to exit the unload area by following the truck route signs but turning left (west) before the Outbound scale to get back in line for the unload area. *
14. Proceed to dump load. LDM staff may be there to assist but not necessarily. Please do not step out of the unload pit area.
15. Once the truck is empty follow the yellow truck route signs and turn left (south) prior to the Oil Load Out Building keeping in mind that the Maximum speed limit is 15/km hr.
16. Turn left (east) by Fire Protection Tank following the yellow truck route signs
17. Turn left (north) at the Storm Reservoir following yellow truck route signs.
18. Stop at the stop sign along side the Admin Building.
19. Turn right (east) at the stop sign and proceed to Outbound Scale.
20. Pull up to smart talk speaker on driver’s side and wait for the scale staff to weight your truck. You can communicate with the scale house though the smart talk system.
21. Remove your scale ticket from the ticket printer. If you require more than 1 ticket, press the reprint button. Do NOT leave until you get your ticket.
22. Exit LDM site with extreme caution travelling in the right hand lane going east past the probe station.
LDM Staff would like to thank you for driving safely and your cooperation in making LDM a safe place of work. Hope to see you again soon!
